ACTIVIDADES:
Mi trabajo se centra en la acuicultura de moluscos, con énfasis en la producción de perlas cultivadas y en el análisis de los procesos biológicos asociados a su manejo. En particular, investigo la respuesta fisiológica de los organismos a la relajación, el manejo y los procedimientos quirúrgicos, así como la aplicación y adaptación de técnicas de origen veterinario en especies acuáticas. Un eje recurrente de mi investigación es el refinamiento de protocolos utilizados en la producción de perlas, con el objetivo de mejorar la reproducibilidad de los resultados, el desempeño de los organismos y el bienestar animal. Este trabajo se desarrolla desde una perspectiva aplicada, integrando experimentación controlada con condiciones propias de sistemas productivos y de investigación.
